Mrs. Fatima Gailani was born in a religious and political family in 1954 in Kabul city. After her graduation from Malalay high school, she did her higher studies in Shahid Beheshti University in Islamic Republic of Iran and after that, she got her Master’s degree in the field of Islamic studies from Muslim College in the United Kingdom.
She remained spokeswoman for Mujahedeen during Jihad against Russian invasion of Afghanistan. She did lots of ceaseless efforts to deliver services for the deprived Children of Afghanistan and provided services for treatment of injured mujahedeen. She had an active role to protect Human Rights particularly to promote women empowerment. She also participated in historical Bone Conference (Germany) as an observer.
She was appointed as commissioner in Afghan National Constitution and also had membership of both Loya Jirgas (National Assembly and Emergency Loya Jirga).
She has been working as president of the Afghan Red Crescent Society since 2005.
She has written two books (Biography of Mohammad Musa Shafiq- the former prime minister of Afghanistan; and Landon Mosques).
